Why we started

Crescent Surveys was set up in 2026 to do one job well: domestic EPCs for people in our local area, at a price you can see before you book, on a day that suits you rather than the assessor. We are flexible with evenings and weekends, so the visit can fit round work rather than the other way round.

Most people need an EPC at a busy moment. A sale is going through, a tenancy is about to start, a landlord has a deadline. The job is to make the certificate the easy part: book online, get a visit that turns up when it said, and have the certificate on the register before anyone chases it.

Accreditation

Every EPC in England and Wales has to be produced by an assessor accredited with a government-approved scheme. Ours is Elmhurst Energy, which audits the certificates and photographs its members lodge. You can check any certificate we lodge on the government register.

The housing round here

Most of what we assess is inter-war and post-war brick: cavity walls of varying quality, suspended floors, and heating that has been changed two or three times. Knowing the local stock is what stops an assessment turning into guesswork.

The gable end of a red-brick semi-detached house, with a chimney, soil pipe and two small windows.
A gable end tells us a lot before we are through the door: wall construction, roof line, chimney, and whether there has been an extension.
An air brick set into the bottom courses of a red-brick wall, just above a paved path.
An air brick low in the wall usually means a suspended timber floor, which is recorded differently from a solid one and changes the insulation options.
